MY FIRST SURROGATE NEWBORN BABY

THIS IS BABY STARLET!

And yes she was my first Surrogate baby to photograph. I photographed her a little while back (back when I was too busy to post new session images). I was looking at her images again as I was making her mommy's permanent slideshow and which made me realize that I need to post some of her images too. She was two weeks old. EDITED: IF YOU ALREADY READ THIS, I WAS WRONG. I WAS DOING SOME FILING TODAY AFTER I POSTED THIS AND SAW THAT STARLET WAS 8 DAYS OLD. WHAT A GREAT AGE! I think she was born a little early. She was still very small at the time of her session. I love 'em this small. I love them still in fetal position....
These two are the ones that look like she is still in utero. I wished I had some of these poses of my babies when they were this young. This is such fleeting stage of an infant's life.

angel baby...

Mommy and Daddy: They are her "real" parents (biological parents). Someone else carried her, but she is flesh of their flesh.

I usually ask parents what images that I have done that stand out in their mind so that I can know what they really like and what they want of their babies. And as you can see her mommy liked my flower babies...

All children are gifts from God.

Business Card designed from Starlet's session. I try to remember to create a business card from each session. It is perfect for them to share with friends and family with their baby as the model.

That's all I will be posting this week. I would like to post some images from the last two sessions from last week, but I have tons to do today because we are leaving for a trip to Memphis tomorrow. It will have to wait until next week.

I must brag on my husband. He will be receiving an award at the Southern Cotton Ginner's annual banquet in Memphis. He has received the honor of Ginner of the Year. The formal annoucement of this has been printed in the Delta Farm Press Magazine that will be distributed at the annual FARM AND GIN SHOW in Memphis at the Cook Convention Center. I went to their website trying to find a link to it. Maybe they won't have it until after the gin show since that is the formal annoucement. I wanted to add it to this. I was asked to do the photos which made me nervous since it is a little different type of work for me. But they did included one of Randy and Natalie. This is the link to the last article (not the one about ginner of the year):

That's it for now. I hope to post some images from this special event in our family's life. Our family is very proud of Randy and his accomplishments, but as he said it all because of us (his family) that he desires success. Love ya, Honey!

TWO FOR ONE SALE...

TWO BABIES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE. NO NOT REALLY.
SCROLL DOWN AND READ ON...
I RE-ADDED THIS IMAGE BECAUSE I WANTED IT TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO APPEAR WITH THIS POST. THE INFORMATION ABOUT IT IS LISTED BELOW. I HAD TO RE-DO THE NEXT IMAGE AND WHEN I REPLACED IT WITH THE EDITED IMAGE THE BLOG PUTS IT AT THE TOP. WELL, IT DOESN'T EXACTLY GO WITH MY 2/1 SALE. LOL

Okay, I found an error on this earlier. If you recently viewed the blog you may or may not have caught it. But since I can not figure out how to replace a particular image rather than deleting it and then adding the new one. Of course, when you add the new one it brings it to the top, not where you were wanting it to appear. I caught a typo in the text of the quote that I used for this image. I had "The" rather "There". So now this image will appear first...unless I add the other one again...that's what I will do. Can see that I am thinking as I post?

TWO FOR ONE SALE? WELL, NOT REALLY...BUT WHEN THE BRAND NEW COUSIN ONLY DAYS OLD SHOWED UP WITH ALI TO DO HER PORTRAITS, I COULDN'T RESIST THESE POSES...
Double Trouble for these babies grandmother and double the LOVE!
This is 3-month old Ali and her brand new baby cousin, Hayden, 11 days old.
Isn't she the cutest little butter ball...
It is so hard to keep those hands out of their mouth once they discover them.

Ali trying so hard to hold her head up. It is just such hard work being a baby!
One last one with both babies!
TO ALI'S MOMMY: There's many more good ones. I just wanted to pick out a few to wet your appetite. What do you think? Your mom is gonna love these of the two babies, uh?

The famous pitcher and blow w/pearls...

WHAT A DOLL!

This is Ainsley's special Teddy.

To Ainsley's Mommy: I picked a few of my favs to posts and give you a sneak preview. Enjoy.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDAL PORTRAITS

These are Heather's Bridal Portraits. I was pleased with them and I wanted to post them before now, but I knew I should wait until the wedding. It has past. It was few days ago. It was a lot of fun! Heather, I am so glad you have so much fun on your special day!

A window light portrait...

I made this as a suprize for the bride. I had these printed into 4x6 and gave them to them to set out at the reception as a wedding keepsake for their guests.
Could this be a little attitude? I never thought of sweet Heather as one to have attitude, but I think it's just hard not to shine and feel beautiful when you wear a dress like this!

The next few images were done in the bay window (the one I broke while trying to get just the right angle and yes, my husband, has forgiven me for that now...he had to spend the rest of his day fixing it...Thanks, Baby!)

I fell in love with the lighting of her eyes. When I was doing some others of her sitting on the porch, I had to get close and capture the sparkle in her eyes.

one of the first ones we shot in the parlor
Another window portrait. This was the one! This was the 16x20 that was displayed at the reception. What a beautiful bride!
One last one...
This is the same as the first one but with a little more background. I really like the tight crop and love the square crops for posting on the blog, but I really like this one too showing some of the railing of the porch. So I guess I going to let you see both version.

I have several sessions to shoot this week, many to work on, and a trip to get ready for next week, but I will try to pick out a few from the wedding to post too. It was a really fun wedding and I am so glad I was there. It was one of those wedding that I would have wanted to be a guest if I had not been the photographer.
But for now that is it.

Baby Lydia Three Month Old (almost 4 mos.)

BABY LYDIA
(COLOR VERSION ABOVE BLACK & WHITE BELOW)
I don't know which I prefer...what do you think?
One with the bonnet...
This should have been Lydia's 3 month portrait session. Her mommy is trying to keep up with them like she did for her older sister. But we all know it is so much harder when you have the 2nd baby (for obvious reasons...now you have two to care for). But since Lydia is almost 4 months, she could hold her head up...her sister didn't do that, uh?
Isn't she a cutie with those big blue eyes? She had really filled out since I last saw her. I will try to go back and post a few from her newborn session. It was done before I started posting regular sessions.
I love these big eyes!
And guess who this is? Lydia's sister, Laurel, photographed about 3 years ago.
They are wearing the same Christening dress. Their mommy wore it and so did her mommy. What a great heirloom to cherish along with beautiful baby portraits wearing it.
Laurel in her blue dress~~
Laurel discovering her hand :)
This is Lydia again...Love those early baby expressions~
That it for now for Baby Lydia and her sister Laurel (3 yrs ago).
