SNAPSHOT FIRST...

These two photos were taken last year at Dairy Queen. Each year my gift to you is no session fee for Holiday Portrait Session. Your gift and mine to need children in our area is the toy that you bring to save money on your Christmas Portrait Package. Each year the radio station hosts a toy drive for Santa Solders at Dairy Queen. Well, this year today is the day (12.12.08). After I pick Cari up from school, we will delivery "our" toys to Dairy Queen. These photos were taken last year with my "new" snapshot camera at the time. It's not such a great photo, but just a snapshot...so yes, sometimes photographers have images that are just snapshots. We aren't happy with them, but they are much better than nothing!

She even opened her eyes for a few minutes to see what was going on (or where she was, but she didn't really seem to care)!

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT/CHRISTMAS GREETING...

I suggested a different greeting when we first viewed these immediatley after the session, but it only had room for four images and once I looked at the images closer, I realized I really loved six of them and couldn't seem to narrow it down to the four. Since this mom give me lots of creative control, I converted a storyboard that I use from time to time to a 4x8 Christmas Card. Isn't this the sweetest!

REMINDER: Christmas Portraits or "just babies"

Since I have posted a recent session, I wanted to include a reminder of this for next week and weekend. Scroll down for more info. Remember this doesn't have to be just for Christmas. It could be for "just babies" sessions...simple, classic baby/child portraits.

Okay, I know I over-did-it again...too many choices. I just get so carried away trying to give variety and multiple choices of vertical, horizontal and multi-image greetings. When I was working on these the first time, I accidently deleted these and I still do not know how to go back and add an image anywhere other than the top. IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO DO THIS WITH BLOGGER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW...IT SURE COULD COME IN HANDY!

I am still having some major computer problems. The computer guy is coming tomorrow. I did manage to get all this Christmas Card samples ready for your view (these and the ones from the previous post). I also spent a good portion of my day doing some birth annoucements since I am running a little behind again. So stay patience...

(a new modern style...great for black and white images or anything...this is a squre 5x5 and I did find out recently that 5x5 costs a little more than 5x7 to mail...check with your local post office...I know it doesn't make since)

(a very simple image...you can choose another color and create your own message...includes two square images--great for two children)

(this one would be great like this with two children or a different images of three children...sometimes their best images is their separate images...often it is next to impossible to get two or more with their best expressions at the same time)

(as you can see these are basicly the same card with different colors...I can match this to the subjects clothing...that's what I did in these two samples...because of the narrow horizontal crop this may not work on all images, but it has a unique appeal)

[Okay, I am not superstitious, but I thought it sort of ironical to have the crying baby in the card that is numbered #13. This is for the less than perfect baby session. Over the years, I could probably use several baby sessions to fit this one. Also another squre image...I don't think is that much more than a regular stamp, but I found this out after mailing 5x5 wedding invitations.]

[These two are one of my favs from last year. I almost didn't include them, but since I am using the all white background this year I think these will be perfect for someone...especially someone wearing pink (by the way...Natalie's holiday dress is pink this year) or other pastel tones.]

[The signing message on the green one doesn't seem to show up well here. You can click on any of these to view them larger. I used the medium size for this post since I had so many. Small seemed to small. I initial is suppose to be the family's last name if you can read this you will see the last name is Cotton. I did the LSU card first and I forgot to chance. Someone (my daughter) quickly pointed it out to me when I was showing them to her, but FYI this will be your monogram of your last name...or whatever!]

[I felt like I needed more vertical images since I tend to shoot more vertical in my studio and for sessions like this because I don't have lots of shooting width. So I converted one of my birth annoucements to this. Already a mommy as told me she is loving this one. So I guess that was good move on my part, huh?]

Hatch Extended Family's Portrait Session

THE HATCH FAMILY:

I met Katie this past spring when I photographed Julia's Newborn Portrait Session. Yes, many people think I only photograph babies or newborns. I guess babies are my speciality. I have always loved babies and baby stuff...how could they not be.

As you can see below, I do photograph families too. This is portrait is the formal portrait from the session. Katie and her husband are on the left side of the image, her parents in the middle, and her sister and her husband on the right. The babies dressed in red are Julia and Jack. The first grandson and granddaughter for these grandparents.
