ANGELS AMONG US...

Yes, there truly are angels among us...just look into your child's face and there you will see the portrait of an angel.

I am backtracking and posting some images that I have had a chance to blog yet. I have a another part of this session to post, but I thought these angel images deserved their own post.

CADE AND MACY

CADE I love the crop of this image. I was cropping a favorite image (shown here in color in the basket) for a close-up shot in one of the parts collages of him. Now I think it is one of my favorite images (cropped just like this) from the whole session.

I love the way babies hold their feet.

I like the way he is leaning in on this one. Of course, we were holding our breath in hopes that he would NOT decide to lunge out the chair. [We did have his mommy spotting him, but it is always one of my fears.]

This was series/group of images captured with his sister with them being angels and I zoomed in for this sweet one of just him. I think it is just precious.

Angels...

After dance camp, being sick (that I am still getting over), mini vacation, birthday party and I am sure some other details that I am over looking at the moment, I have been doing some catching up this week on editing and ordering too. So hopefully soon, I will have more to post. Though I also undergoing some major work here in my home/studio. I will try to keep my posting updated.

That's how this storyboard read.

This was a Storyboard was designed with the Alyssa's mommy. She wanted something a little different than my usual square collages and 10 x 20 storyboards and this is what we came up with. The side images are 8x10 and the middle one is 10x10. I received an interesting call today from one the customer reps from my professional photography lab in Dallas. She asked my permission to display this collage in their lobby. I have never been to their lobby, but they have a walk-up counter for professional photographers in the area who prefer to pick up rather than have their packages mailed to them...which is what I would do if I lived their too, uh? Of course, I was flattered and said yes. I get permission from my clients when I photograph them to use their images for advertising and promotion of my business and it extends to something like this as well. I asked if she could take a snapshot of it when she displays it. I wished I had kept a scrapbook of these like this over the years. I think it is neat and I think Alyssa's mommy will too.

If you are having a difficult time seeing the actual images used in the storyboard, the next three images are the same. This is actually the image on the right.

This is the middle image used, the 10x 10 image.

This is the left image. This was one of the sessions that I did late last fall. I recently got the order which is why the lab is just now asking about using the this storyboard. I am looking forward to seeing it. It is 30x20 storyboard larger than I normally do for things like this. Bigger is not always better, but I think in this case it will and often it really does the images justice.

This was actually one of my favorite sessions at the time. The poses and relationships captured in these images are just what I want to capture from a newborn portrait session. I loved so many of them as you can see from these images that I narrowed it down to post.

The quote used on this one is the definition of love. [LOVE] deep affection, to adore completely, state of pure bliss. (Great description of Love, uh? And the way we feel about our newborn baby.)

The next three images are those that I love to capture in a newborn portrait. This is why I want to photograph them as young as possible before they become aware of their surroundings and before they desire to stretch out and lose that fetal position.

I love the expression on these parents' faces. You don't even really have to ask for this expression...it is just natural...it's just the look they have when they look at their brand new baby.

TINY FEET

When I designed this with Baby Alyssa's mommy, I had forgot which quote we had discussesd to use...I was thinking she asked me to pick one. So I picked this one and then before I finished the order, I remembered us discussing it in more detail, but I wasn't sure which one it was. So I emailed it to her with this one and I asked her if she liked it like this or did we discuss another quote. I wanted her approval on the quote as well as the font, her name and age as I listed etc. She emailed me reminding me that we had discussed the one I had used in one of her other custom collages that I designed within her preview slideshow. Other than that she loved it. This was the first quote I did: "No one understands how someone so little can change their world, until they hold their baby in their arms." I like both of them and I think both were very appropriate for the images used.

MY FIRST SURROGATE NEWBORN BABY

THIS IS BABY STARLET!

And yes she was my first Surrogate baby to photograph. I photographed her a little while back (back when I was too busy to post new session images). I was looking at her images again as I was making her mommy's permanent slideshow and which made me realize that I need to post some of her images too. She was two weeks old. EDITED: IF YOU ALREADY READ THIS, I WAS WRONG. I WAS DOING SOME FILING TODAY AFTER I POSTED THIS AND SAW THAT STARLET WAS 8 DAYS OLD. WHAT A GREAT AGE! I think she was born a little early. She was still very small at the time of her session. I love 'em this small. I love them still in fetal position....

These two are the ones that look like she is still in utero. I wished I had some of these poses of my babies when they were this young. This is such fleeting stage of an infant's life.

Mommy and Daddy: They are her "real" parents (biological parents). Someone else carried her, but she is flesh of their flesh.

I usually ask parents what images that I have done that stand out in their mind so that I can know what they really like and what they want of their babies. And as you can see her mommy liked my flower babies...

All children are gifts from God.

Business Card designed from Starlet's session. I try to remember to create a business card from each session. It is perfect for them to share with friends and family with their baby as the model.

That's all I will be posting this week. I would like to post some images from the last two sessions from last week, but I have tons to do today because we are leaving for a trip to Memphis tomorrow. It will have to wait until next week.

I must brag on my husband. He will be receiving an award at the Southern Cotton Ginner's annual banquet in Memphis. He has received the honor of Ginner of the Year. The formal annoucement of this has been printed in the Delta Farm Press Magazine that will be distributed at the annual FARM AND GIN SHOW in Memphis at the Cook Convention Center. I went to their website trying to find a link to it. Maybe they won't have it until after the gin show since that is the formal annoucement. I wanted to add it to this. I was asked to do the photos which made me nervous since it is a little different type of work for me. But they did included one of Randy and Natalie. AINSLEY AT SUCH A FUN AGE!

Ainsley is 8 month old in this session that I did last week...my favorite baby age to photograph. So, so adorabe...able to sit, smile and not crawling or walking (at least not very fast). This is the fun dress up age!
