NEWBORN BABY GIRL: Jenna

Sneak Peak of Baby Jenna: I am not quite through with this session, but I wanted some images to appear when someone logs onto this blog rather than the info about peanut butter. While I think it was appropriate to include here, I did not want it to be the first thing that shows up. It is a portrait blog and that's what one should see first when they log on! Don't you agree?

Hallie was a proud big sister. She also loved her new pink gown that her mommy bought her to match Baby Jenna's sleeper. Hallie wanted to know would she wear this when Santa came. I don't know if she did, but aren't they both PRETTY IN PINK!

PEANUT BUTTER & RITZ CRACKERS

I love peanut butter and Ritz crakers...I had several yesterday...not exactly diet food, but I did have the wheat crackers. LOL.

I received a newletter type email yesterday that had this link that provides a list of companies that DO NOT have tainted peanut butter and I wanted to share this with my blog followers. I know often a child will go through a phase of eating nothing but something like peanut butter and crackers...so yes, this is very important to us parents (mimi's too).

I know this isn't exactly portrait related. I had a hard time determining which blog to put this on, but I decided to do it here because I am pretty sure that I get the most traffice from this one.

As you can see, there is still plenty of good peanut butter and peanut butter products available for our children. I hate that these things happen, but I am glad that we have resources like this to get answers like this.

BAYLEE: a very busy toddler

BAYLEE Little Miss Baylee was about 17 months old when we photographed these. This is often a very complicated age to photograph because of obvious reason...they are just too busy exploring their world...and not old enough to bribe (I mean reward). But needless to say, we still got some beautiful images of the active beautiful toddler.

NEWBORN: HANDSOME BABY ELI

Eli is about 2 weeks old here! I am doing some serious catching up. Somehow or another I always seem to photograph the "really" pretty newborns, but Eli is probably the most handsome that I can ever remember photographing. And I say HANDSOME is the word for this baby. He has the little guy/man look. I bet no one ever asks him mommy if he is a boy or a girl! He just looks like a boy!

UPCOMING BLOG PHOTO SESSION CONTEST

Regularly I visit my favorite blogs, occassionaly I visit a view particular blogs that I find intersting and sometimes I even visit one out of the blue that I just ran across from someone's else blog. Well, I got this idea from one that I occassionaly visit. I had not been there in while because of the craziness of the holidays and then when I was trying to mentally recover from this past year, I tried to stay away from the computer...I needed a computer break too!

The other night when I could not sleep, I did some blog visiting I ran across this idea. The contest is for sessions that were posted on my blog...these sessions will be competing again each other for a nice prize. This photographer called hers best of 2008 or something like this. I am going to call mine 2009 contest because as you might guess that's when we are having it. I think hers was 17 of her favorite images and the viewers voted for them. So I have been working on these for the last few days off and on...I know I should be doing other things. I can't think of how this is really going to stimulate the economy or even my checking account, but it sounds like fun and who doesn't need a little fun in their lives.

I have already scanned through the sessions that I have posted and I want to post a few that I have not had a chance to post before I start this...the contest will be from all the sessions that I have posted since I started blogging last fall (excluding 2007 Christmas images). It won't be every session, of course, that would just be way too many. I plan to narrow it down to 15 - 20 sessions. I will post 2-5 of my favorite images from the sessions.

If you have had a session that I have posted this past year and if you think think yours should be in the contest, please email or comment as to why, I will consider it if I wasn't already.

I plan to start the contest early February. I am not sure how long it will run. I want to post a few of my last sessions and I also want to have a chance to send an email and letter (by mail) to let each entrant know so that can be looking for it...it's up to them to let their friends and family know about this to vote for them.

2009 Blog Photo Session Contest (some general ideas/guidelines)

• Will start some time next month
• Will go on for about 10-15 days
• First place winner will receive a 11x14 Heirloom Portrait
• Second place winner will receive a mounted 8x10 portrait
• Third place will receive a 5x7 portrait
• Only one vote per person (Whoever votes will probably have to register with blogger so that I know that you only voted once.)
• All winners will be notified by email. Winners will also be annouced on the blog.

I'M BAAAACK!

Okay, I know I have been MIA. But I am back just in time for "just babies" for this weekend.

I don't exactly have everything worked out in my mind what I am doing this month, but I do want to make sure that I offer something for "just babies" and something in time for Valentine's. As one might suspect, I have been taking sometime off to recover from the holidays and more, I did get back to work last week, but I am still trying to find my groove (gee, that has an Austin Powers, sound to it! LOL).

Part of my plans for my Partial Sabbatical was to catch-up and re-organize around here. After the last months of 2008, I realize that it won't happen with me offering "just babies" every month. I will be hosting a "just babies" promotion every other month. I do intend to make another post on this later!

Stay tuned because I am seriouly thinking about hosting a contest...yes, you get to play!
