Flashback Friday

These are being posted on Flashback Friday because this little guy is probably two years old now. His mommy recently ordered the "Little Tiger" collage so I thought I would post the other two collages that I designed too. In the middle collage he is photographed with his cousin, Ally. Aren't they two precious little ones?REMEMBER: To view the collages and storyboard larger, click on the images.

ANOTHER NEWBORN BOY: DOUGLAS (and yes, I am still backtracking)
ABOVE IMAGE: BY FAR IS MY FAVORITE IMAGE FROM THIS SESSION, ESPECIALLY WITH THIS TIGHT SQUARE CROP! Gees...my eyes must be playing drinks because of how late it is (11:40 pm) because I had to go to Preview to make sure it was a square! This is a second child session...meaning I photographed his older sibling (sister) less than 2 years ago. I used to try to duplicate the session...well, I learned the hard way [ Is there any other way to learn a lesson?] that is pretty much impossible. My goal is to try to get one or two images similiar to the other sib. There was a similiar image like this of Julia from her newborn session. I will try to go to my older files and find it and then post this one again...it's fun to compare. I usually think they look just like the older sibling and then once I get them side-by-side, I realize they have as many different features as like. But not on this one, I actually think he has his on look...maybe it's his masculine BOY LOOK!

Second children are very special, but often don't get the hand-knitted blanket that the FIRST CHILD had....okay...I know from personal experience. Disclaimer: You (we) are busy being parents and spouses...who has time for kniting (or even crocheting)!
" Okay, Douglas maybe it's not handmade, but it's precious and so are you!"I try to always get this image...it has become one of my newborn signature images. Besides Douglas being a 2nd child and all (sharing his time w/older sibs), he was also dealing with some tummy troubles. I don't think we got any really great images of him curled up on his tummy! But you have to admit...this is just as priceless!

The beautiful big sister, Julia!
This image was actully captured a few weeks earlier to during my holiday sessions, but we knew it would be good to save some of these to include in their Holiday Birth Annoucements. She was exceptionally cooperative (for a Toddler) that day...not so much on this day! Who could blame her, after all, she is coping with sharing her parents with this helpless little infant! We tried very hard for a sweet image of the two together for the Holiday greeting. It is really hard to bribe (I mean reward) a child this young enough to get what you (we) really want. But I was pleased with this one enough...I am thinking it made their card/annoucement!

ADRIANNA...finally a newborn girl
I love the way newborns curl up and fit into little things like hat boxes and how much more precious wearing cute flower headband (another new prop). I love cool props and cute baby things...one of the many things l love about photographing babies.
Her mommy just loved this headband (hers). So I knew she would love to see it too!

I worked on Baby Adrianna's birth annoucements today since I can't do a lot of window changing right now with my computer problems. I couldn't resist using one of my new designs for Christmas for a birth annoucement too as you will see in the next too images.

I couldn't resist putting this image with annoucement. Looks like they were made for each other (the image and the design).
I usually post more and if time permits, I may add more later from this session, but it's that time of the year that's going to get crazy and I wanted to post these now since I already had them ready from doing the birth annoucments.~~jami~~

Daddy's Little Tiger: Madison

Madison is 18 month old is the images. I was expecting this to be quite a difficult session...which is quite typical for toddlers. Madison wowed me and her mommy with great images!
I think is my favorite one!

Madison's mommy scheduled the "just babies" session to create a Little Tiger image for her daddy, but since "just babies" is designed to just capture babies just as they as well and since Madison did so great for LSU photos, we did some more fun images of her too [next post].
Stay tuned!

ANOTHER LITTLE TIGER: CASH (12 weeks old)

Cash is wear a purple LSU jersey that his daddy wore when he was a toddler. I love photographing children in clothing that has such a sentimental strings like these.

OUR LITTLE TIGER!
Often when I do portfolio, business cards, etc., I forget to use images of OUR LITTLE TIGER. But not this time! HERE SHE IS!
She's not the easiest child to work with...so as soon as I was pleased with a pose, I moved on. I am trying to prevent photographer's child (grandchild) burnout. Natalie's daddy is still suffering from it. Maybe not...he never minds taking a photograph with his Little Tiger!

I think my two favorite images are the first one and the "U" image in the storyboard. I only took one of her with the "U". I was pleased. So that was it.

LITTLE TIGER: JULIA
I couldn't resist posting of view of Little Miss Julia's "little tiger" images. She's such a little mover and shaker. It was quite the challenge to keep her in one place, but isn't that just typical for one year olds?
Another cute one...notice those eyelashes again.
I haven't had time to work on all of these, but I give you something new and fun to view. Isn't she just the cutest little thing with blonde curly hair with brownish eyes...such contrasting, but beautiful features.Go Tigers!

SEPTEMBER THEME: "LITTLE TIGERS!"
Good thing I had the bow in her hair so you wouldn't think she's a boy. Yes, this is our little Natalie almost 2 years ago. She has several cheerleader outfits and other LSU attire now, but not so many then. I didn't get into buying her lots of LSU stuff until later. I wanted to make sure her daddy would be attending LSU. He is in his 2nd year and her mommy her 1st year. So I guess it is safe to say we are LSU fans. I know the rest of my family is. I am not a big sports fan so it really doesn't matter to me, but since everyone else is, I am guess I am too. After all anything with LSU on it sells! So why not LSU PORTRAITS...one of my favorite images from Our Little Tiger's LSU session (last fall)
I did entire LSU SESSION of Natalie last fall in two different cheerleader suits. Yes, it was another one of my over-the-top sessions. I photographed over 100 images with over 30 or 40 as my favorite. I created storyboard/collage of a variety of images from the session for Natalie's daddy's birthday. It was his b'day gift from Natalie!
Now I know everyone doesn't want 100 images or even 30 or 40 with LSU attire thus the whole LSU theme. I don't even want this many any more. I want to learn to shoot less...sort of like quality verses quantity. One way for me to learn to do this is through the mini sessions. "Just Babies" is going to just a great learning tool for me (teaching myself to not-overshoot) and it is going to so great for the consumer too. I will elaborate on this on my next post. Later today or tomorrow.
Another Storyboard: Based on the images photographed I will choose to create either a vertical or horizontal storyboard.
Another favorite from the same year!
I wanted to do some LSU PORTRAIT of Our Little Tiger this weekend while she was here, but I wanted a new idea. I have come up with, but I need to purchase a few new props to go with it. So I will have to do hers later.
Over the last few years, I have done a variety of different LSU Themed portraits as part of someone's custom portrait session. But I wanted to show classic, but simple poses on this post because that's what will be availabe from the "Just Babies" promotion this week. At this age the cutest and most simple works best!
FOR NON LSU FANS: I KNOW THERE ARE SOME OF YOU OUT THERE. SO FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN PROPS AND YOUR OWN COLLEGE THEME ATTIRE. MY BLOOD ISN'T PURPLE AND GOLD! I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN WHO PARENTS SUPPORT OTHER TEAMS. OKAY!
Please email or leave comment to schedule an appointment for you child (grandchild) for an LSU Themed portrait during the "Just Babies" promotion this week (September 25-27th).

SWEET DREAMS BABY IN TIGERLAND
The above image was suppose to follow the image of baby and his sister, but I accidently deleted it. It is too cute to not be included in this group of images. As you can see, it is both of their hands....so sweet...
This is Baby Walker (4 weeks) and his older sister, Riley. Walker is a little older than the ideal age for newborn portraits, but it is a little difficult when babies are born during the holidays.
One of the sample birth annoucement that I designed for Walker's mommy. Of course, their actual annoucements won't have Jami Ainsworth Portraits across the top of it like this one.
what can I say...sweet, sweet...
I was told that Papaw will love this (the camo)

BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY!
LET ME INTRODUCE BABY KOBE. I PHOTOGRAPHED BABY KOBE BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. BETWEEN THE HOLIDAYS, LOTS OF NEW SESSIONS AND MY USUAL BEGINNING OF YEAR SINUS INFECTION....I AM SLOWLY BUT SURELY TRYING TO CATCH UP. THIS IMAGE OF KOBE (16 days old) IS MY NEW FAVORITE NEWBORN IMAGES AND I GUESS IT WILL BE MY FAVORITE UNTIL I GET A NEW FAVORITE. His mommy brought this cap for him to be photographed in. She thinks he looks like one of Anne Geddes babies. I must admit that I think he does too. I LOVE THE WAY YOU CAN CURL THOSE LITTLE NEWBORNS INTO FETAL POSITION AGAIN!
