"JUST BABIES" RESCHEDULED

"JUST BABIES" PROMOTION
FROM LAST WEEK HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED FOR THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2008.
I have several openings left, please call or email to schedule a mini session with your baby (2 years old and under) for some fun baby portraits with LSU Theme available as an option.

I am getting really excited about my new monthly promotion geared toward babies and toddlers (infants and children two and under). I have the rest of this year planned with a baby promotion for each month. Over the last few years, I have become known as the baby photographer. I am quite fond of the title. I have always loved babies and I do truly believe that photographing babies is just what I was meant to do (beside being a mom/grandmother). For years I wondered what my calling in life was. I have loved babies and baby stuff as long as I can remember. And now that my babies are grown and my precious granddaughter isn't really a baby any loner, I get to keep playing with babies. How great is that!

One of my favorite things of photographing babies is collecting all the neat baby props. When I realized how much I needed some kind of break in photographing, I quickly realized that babies don't take a break from growing up. So my thought turned toward this idea. I have already accumulated lots of fun baby props over the years and they are what I enjoy the most in my work thus "Just Babies" was born.

Now with my "Just Babies" promotion even more parents will be able to afford beautiful photography for their babies too.

  • $20.00 Session Fee (free to any baby that I photographed in 2008)
  • Packages starting at $25.00
  • Lots of fun and traditional photography ideas just waiting for your baby
  • A new optional theme available for each month
  • Call or email to schedule your appointment

  • December theme: "Angels & Cherubs"
  • January theme: "L-O-V-E"...a valentine's theme

Okay, that's all that I have planned out so far. I have lots of ideas and I welcome any suggestions of new ideas that could be seasonal or just lots of fun to photograph.

SEPTEMBER THEME: "LITTLE TIGERS!"

BEFORE YOU READ ANY FURTHER, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON THE "JUST BABIES" PROMOTION GO TO THIS LINK:
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE LSU THEME FOR THIS MONHS PROMOTION, STAY HERE A WHILE. THE NEXT POST IS THE ABOVE LINK.
Does this "Little Tiger" look familiar? Good thing I had the bow in her hair so you wouldn't think she's a boy. Yes, this is our little Natalie almost 2 years ago. She has several cheerleader outfits and other LSU attire now, but not so many then. I didn't get into buying her lots of LSU stuff until later. I wanted to make sure her daddy would be attending LSU. He is in his 2nd year and her mommy her 1st year. So I guess it is safe to say we are LSU fans. I know the rest of my family is. I am not a big sports fan so it really doesn't matter to me, but since everyone else is, I am guess I am too. After all anything with LSU on it sells! So why not LSU PORTRAITS...
This is a simple but classic LSU STORYBOARD that will be available from these sessions.

one of my favorite images from Our Little Tiger's LSU session (last fall) I did entire LSU SESSION of Natalie last fall in two different cheerleader suits. Yes, it was another one of my over-the-top sessions. I photographed over 100 images with over 30 or 40 as my favorite. I created storyboard/collage of a variety of images from the session for Natalie's daddy's birthday. It was his b'day gift from Natalie!

Now I know everyone doesn't want 100 images or even 30 or 40 with LSU attire thus the whole LSU theme. I don't even want this many any more. I want to learn to shoot less...sort of like quality verses quantity. One way for me to learn to do this is through the mini sessions. "Just Babies" is going to just a great learning tool for me (teaching myself to not-overshoot) and it is going to so great for the consumer too. I will elaborate on this on my next post. Later today or tomorrow.

Another Storyboard: Based on the images photographed I will choose to create either a vertical or horizontal storyboard.

Another favorite from the same year!

I wanted to do some LSU PORTRAIT of Our Little Tiger this weekend while she was here, but I wanted a new idea. I have come up with, but I need to purchase a few new props to go with it. So I will have to do hers later.

Over the last few years, I have done a variety of different LSU Themed portraits as part of someone's custom portrait session. But I wanted to show classic, but simple poses on this post because that's what will be availabe from the "Just Babies" promotion this week. At this age the cutest and most simple works best!

FOR NON LSU FANS: I KNOW THERE ARE SOME OF YOU OUT THERE. SO FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN PROPS AND YOUR OWN COLLEGE THEME ATTIRE. MY BLOOD ISN'T PURPLE AND GOLD! I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN WHO PARENTS SUPPORT OTHER TEAMS. OKAY!

Please email or leave comment to schedule an appointment for you child (grandchild) for an LSU Themed portrait during the "Just Babies" promotion this week (September 25-27th).

AINSLEY'S ONE YEAR PORTRAIT SESSION

THIS IS MY VERY FAVORITE IMAGE FROM THIS SESSION Ainsley's one-year portrait session was captured at Frogmore Plantation, her grandparent's home. As you can see this was a beautiful place to capture this milestone in Little Miss Ainsley's life. When the opportunity presents itself, I love to do portrait sessions at special locations that have significance to the families involved. It was in the middle of summer when these were done. So, yes, it was very hot. But we waited until "sweet light" time and photographed her until the sun was going down which seemed to coincide with her patience with us.
Doesn't she look happy here?

A Nice Standing Portrait

I love the way it like she is posed with her little foot. She's a natural!
Pretty in Pink

I love images like this. Aren't those eyelashes adorable?

This is Ainsley's version of ''smelling". She is "smelling" the flowers, but she is actually blowing on the flower. The little things like this are so precious about babies. It is so sweet watching them and seeing how they learn new things...new things as simple as smelling a flower.

I love the lighting in her eyes in this one.

and this one too...

and this one too...
This is actually one of using her "baby" sign language that her mommy taught her. Now I am new to this, but if my memory serves me right, this was "more". I think she wanted more crackers that her mommy was sharing with her to keep her patient through our last few images.

"PEEK-A-BOO" We even tried playing peek-a-boo around me to get her attention, but she just wanted to play peek-a-boo too!

As you can see from the large number of images that I included that I had many favorites from this session. I have a simple storyboard that I will post later today or this weekend.

ONE MORE SESSION EDITED AND READY FOR VIEWING

Yes, I am still trying deligently to catch up.
The first image is one of my favorite images from this session. I posted a few of these a while back (early in the summer)...yes, that's how far I am behind. I still have one session out of order (done before this one, it was a longer session...more images to edit and I could see myself actually finishing this one today...okay tonight...but it's done and ready for upload.
THESE IMAGES ARE BABY CARLEY. SHE WAS SIX MONTHS OLD AT THIS TIME. I HAVE SEEN FOR SEVERAL SESSION, BUT THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE (SO FAR...)

A Gently Tinted Image
Playing dress-up in the hat box in baby style...

The famous mirror photo... This mirror portrait was a common request when I first started doing a lot of babies. Then after a while I quit using a particular prop for a while and then when you do it's like I have new prop again...like a fresh new idea all over again!

This image was taken outside this summer before it got soooo hot.

a simple, but very cute storyboard...

That's it for now.

ONE YEAR OLD: MADISON

MY FAVORITE IMAGE FROM THIS SESSION

As promised from the previous post, a few of Madison's Traditional Portraits. One year olds do not like to sit still nor do they like to sit (notice the 2nd image...Madison standing in the chair).

I wished all the one years that I photographed would come to me just as they have learned to stand---before they learn to run (or walk really fast). Oh well...I can always wish!

In spite of the busy body that Little Miss Madison was this summer evening, she still has beautiful portraits.

~~jami~~

MADISON WAS A MOVER AND A SHAKER

Madison was a mover and a shaker at her one year portrait session that was photographed this summer. But isn't this true of all one year olds? I have a few more traditional style portraits to post from Madison's One Year Portrait Sessions. I have photographed Madsion since she was a newborn. It is so neat to watch them grow from the little helpless infant to the mind-of-their-own toddlers!

Madison is wearing her little birthday party outfit in this collage/storyboard. Isn't she just precious?

More to come...

CAROLINE DREAM

HER NAME IS CAROLINE DREAM ___ HER MOMMY CALLS HER "DREAM"When you look at this beautiful face you certainly understand why.
(to view this storyboard and other larger--click on them)
Little Miss Dream's happy disposition did not last long. It was late in the evening (after traditional work hours). We scheduled the session like this so her daddy could come and be in some of the portraits too. However, the day before this Baby Dream decided to start going to bed early. That's the thing about working with babies. Their schedules are always changing. So all we can do is try to adapt to them.

Notice how serious she is in the photo above. I only got this one photo after we changed outfit. She was just not a happy camper any longer. She was tired and sleepy...no mood to be photographed.

So to accommodate baby, I offered to split these session up so that she would be happier. I occassionally work on Saturday mornings. I decided this should be one of those times so that Dream's mommy could get the family/relationship images she so desired. Between my schedule and construction on my home/business it was exactly a month later before I got her back in the studio. I think the timing of the day and her age was just perfect this time.

Dream and her Mommy

Dream and her Daddy

All three relating as a family should...lots of love and laughter!

Gotta love a happy baby, huh?

Don't you want to just pinch those checks?

A Family Storyboard:

This is one of those families I have watched grow (in photographs). I photographed Dream's mommy (Danielle) several years ago for her senior portraits. Then a few years later I met her daddy during the engagement session. A few weeks later I photographed their wedding at Eola Hotel. As a photographer, it is neat to watch families grow and change like this.

As many of you know, I am fading away from digital slideshows as my proofing or preview of images from a portrait session. I have not quit 100%, but for the most part I am putting most session online for the families to preview their portraits. In this particular case, I did not do online proofing because they do not have internet or computer access. Which does seem strange to those of us who live on our computer, but it is still common for some people. I have ordered a digital preview album for Little Miss Dream's family, but I still wanted to post these on the blog to share with you (my bog regulars) and for those who may know her family. I purposely do not always include first names and last names for just a little privacy for those involved...of course, in the case of birth annoucements (posted recently), I have included all the information. I hope that's okay. I considered blotting some of it out, but it just looked tacky when I did. I know that the internet is not always the safest place for "too much" information about someone, but overall I think it is okay (at least I hope so).

I hope you enjoyed viewing the images of Dream and the last few posts. I am working so hard to get at least half way caught up this week. Of course, everything else around me is upside down, but I do have the feeling of accomplishment and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I have one more session that I hope to get finished today and uploaded. But then I will spend a few days doing some paper work and maybe some laundry (before we run out of towel...haha). I hope to be back at this pace next week. I would also like to make my annoucement by then too!

So stay tuned!

BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY AND HANDSOME BROTHER

SEE WHAT I MEAN! Any mom who has ever given birth to a baby boy totally understands how beautiful and boy go together. I learned that all to well almost 20 years ago when my beautiful baby boy was born. Of course, before he was born I knew I already loved him. And as soon as I saw his beautiful face, I knew of a love that I did not know existed until that moment in time...a moment that I will never forget. What mom could?
I still remember my husband's cousin (Karen) helping me in my room after the delivering. I remember her asking was I ready to have another baby. My answer was definitely yes...just not today (the day I delivered). I knew I wanted to feel that euphoric feeling again.

Baby Broghan (with eyes open...I don't get too many of these with newborns)
What beautiful, perfect lips...makes you want to kiss him, huh?

These are some of the images that I have been behind on. I am working overtime this week and next week trying to catch up. I did, however, get this birth annoucement much sooner for them to send out (while he still looked like this).

Mothers love images of their children (siblings) loving each other.

Keaton and his future sports buddy, Broghan

One of Broghan's Collages:

Storyboard of Keaton and Broghan:

Often I have a sessions that make mommies and grandmothers cry. And I cannot be in the presence with anyone who cries that I don't cry too (just ask my mom). I am so tenderhearted. But who could not choke on tears when witnessing this:

To Broghan and Keaton's Mommy: Check your email. These are ready to view online and I even saved a few of my favorites just for your viewing only and/or whoever you choose to share your password with.

I really love the outcome of this session!

Enjoy...

Lydia's Six-Month Portrait Session

I just remembered that I think Lydia was actually 7 mos., but that's okay too (but this represents her 6 month session and the milestones of this age).
Isn't she the cutest little butterball?

This is her sister, Laurel. Laurel usually hates to be photographed, but I was thinking it might be different this time since it was at their home (at least I was hoping it would be). I was right. Little Miss Laurel was much more comfortable and even wanted to be photographed. She even volunteered some of these poses that she came up with on her own.

Here's a few of both girls: another sibling image--
I am saving a few of my favs of these two together for their mommy to see first.

This is my favorite image of Laurel. I love, love her natural soft expression here.

I am finally beginning to catch up. These images are from Lydia's 6 month portrait. Because of the major construction that was going at the time at my home/business thesee were photographed at their home in the girls' bedrooms.

I am embarrassed how behind I am, but I attempting to do some major catching up this week and next week and I have special promotion and announcement to annouce also this week. So stay tuned!
