A BEAUTIFUL TIME OF THE YEAR IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

THESE TWO IMAGES ARE MY LITTLE SWEETHEART, NATALIE.
THESE WERE PHOTOGRAPHED ABOUT A YEAR AGO WHEN THE AZELIAS WERE BLOOMING LAST YEAR. I RECENTLY POSTED THEM ON NATALIE'S BLOG. IF YOU DON'T REGULARLY VISIT HER BLOG AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF THESE IMAGES, CHECK OUT HER HER BLOG.

In the first image, I love her eyes and I miss that adorable little toddler face that has grown into a sweet little girl face. The second image is my favorite image of the series that I did of her picking wildflowers. I just love that intense expression on her face.

Just thought I would throw in a few older images since it is spring. I photographed several seniors recently with azelias blooming in the background. I will try to post some of them when I finish up with the seniors. But that's it for now...until next time.

SCROLL DOWN AND VIEW RECENT POSTS

SCROLL DOWN TO READ AND VIEW RECENT POSTS. THE OTHER DAY I WAS HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING GOING ON WHATEVER I WAS SUPPOSE TO BE DOING AT THE TIME. SO I WORKED ON SEVERAL POSTS TO UPLOAD IN THE NEAR FUTURE. BUT TO KEEP MY BLOG INTERSTING AND POSTING A LOT AT ONE TIME AND THEN NOTHING FOR A WHILE, I DECIDED TO POST ONE OR TWO SEVERAL DAYS APART. I AM STILL EXTREMELY BEHIND, BUT I DO HAVE A FEW POSTS READY. BUT THE WAY THE BLOG WORKS IS WHATEVER YOU POST LAST (EVEN IF IT DOESN'T GO LIVE) SHOWS UP LAST OR RATHER FIRST WHEN YOU VIEW IT. SO AFTER I UPLOADED SEVERAL POSTS, BUT NOT COMPLETED THEM, I DECIDED TO DO THE SNEAK PEAK OF TINY MIRACLE BABY AVERY. SO NOW THAT I HAD POSTED ONE OF THEM, I AM REMINDED OF THIS LITTLE BLOG THING. SO PLEASE SCROLL PAST AVERY'S POST TO VIEW THE NEXT FEW POSTS.
THANKS...

SNEAK PEAK OF A TINY MIRACLE

Here she is Tiny Miracle Avery Grace. She arrived over 2 months early tipping the scales at 2 lbs and 2 oz. She was only 14.5 inches long. She even weighted less than 2lbs at one point. Our God has heard many prayers on her behalf. As you can see her here now, she looks like a typical newborn infant at 12 weeks and one day later. Her mommy and her family have become special to me since I photographed her wedding almost 3 years ago. At Christmas I gave them a newborn portrait session gift certificate preferably to be used when she was less than 3 wks. old. At that point, poor little Avery was still being poked and probed by the doctors and nurses and her Nonna was sending emails to everyone on list giving updates and continual reguests for prayers.

HER TINY MIRACLE BRACELET
(Still too big)
Premie babies are always a challenge to photograph. Though they look like newborns in size they have been here much longer and have become aware of their surroundings. Often they have had so many different tests for medical purposes for so long, that they really don't like being moved, changed, or anything. Knowing this in advance, I didn't try to do all the same little curled up newborn images with Baby Avery. I worked with what worked with her. And I must admit, we ended up with beautiful images for Avery's First Portrait Session.
Avery and Her Proud Parents
I love the way babies lay their hands on their chest.
I love little feet, but I really like this one. I've never done one like this with the little bow in it which is probably one reason I like it so much...something a little different.
Okay, Avery's Mommy and Nonna, this is your little sneak peak. I have picked out many great images to post. I am trying to get in the habit of picking out blog images immediately and then I will use it as a starting point for the rest of the editing when I get to that session. So I have all of Avery's ready to post, but I am only squeazing these few in for now since I have a few other sessions that I need to edit for blog images that were done before Avery's. I do try so hard to stay in event order as much as possible.
I hope everyone enjoy's Avery's Sneak Peak.

TWO FOR ONE SALE AGAIN?

CARLEY AND COLTON... This is Carley (three months) and Baby Colton (newborn-2 wks...I think) that I just posted with the baseball images. Colton's mommy saw my for TWO FOR ONE SALE post that I had of baby Ali and her new baby cousin, Hayden. Carley and Colton are also cousins so Colton's mommy wanted something similiar. Well, it was like I said before, if we planned on getting those images with both babies asleep at the same time, it would not have happended. Baby Carley and Baby Colton proved this theory. It is so much harder getting older babies (older than 3 wks) asleep...at least so alseep that they aren't easily woke up. Which is what happend to Carley. Though this part of the session was a bit of a challenge, but I knew it would be special to their grandmother as well as their moms, so I stayed patient and it paid off. Though I don't have them both alseep, I think these are priceless and I would treasure these images, if I were their grandmother or anyone in their family.

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER...

Carley was much too curious about what was going on to sleep. And as you can see, Colton could care less. (LOL)
Don't you love this inquisitive look?

Carley was looking so sweet and beautiful. I just had to zoom in and get a few of this beautiful face and I love that I captured that curious expression again.
Is she not a doll!
So that's the TWO FOR ONE SALE again. A little different, but still precious!

FUTURE ALL STAR

I guess you could say that I came up with a new quote the day I did these images: "As soon as a new dad knows that he will become father to his own boy is the day that his dreams for him begins." I guess that could go for girls and moms or either parent. But I know from personal exprience, that daddies usually have big dreams for their little boys. I knew Colton's daddy liked baseball a lot because when I photographed Reagan's (Colton's sis) Newborn Session I rememberd a conversation about him assisting coach a local high school team. So I called his mom the day before the session and asked them to bring some of his daddy's baseball equipment. During that phone call, I learned that Colton's daddy also played college ball. I love this image and hope to do something like this of a future grandson of my own someday (not for a long time from now, but someday). I wanted to post this immediately after the session, but this image was used in their birth annoucements and I wanted them to have a chance to send out their birth annoucements first.

Who doesn't love a newborn smile?

Colton and his admiring family

everyone's hands

a kiss from big sister...
Isn't big sister adorable, too?

Okay, I went to the files again. Don't they look a lot alike too? The above images is Colton and the bottom image is Reagan. I think they are almost the same age within a day's difference.
Colton all dressed up.
Reagan's eyes open so that you can see the resemblances again.
It is so hard on parents with two (two years apart). Though it seems that two year old is so grown compared to the new baby, they are still so young and need a lot of attention...not to mention they are having to deal with sharing their world with that new sibling. When the 2 yr. old finally looks at the camera or whatever we were asking for, then baby moves and fusses. But I still think this is an adorabe image of siblings for such young ones.
I always love looking images.
The next few images are some of my favs from Baby Reagan's Newborn Portrait Session:

Reagan and Daddy... I love, love this one.
Reagan and her Mommy (doesn't get much sweeter than this).

I am so glad they chose this as their wall portrait.
And everyone loves my flower babies...especially a newborn flower babe.
Another baseball image of Colton...
And this was their birth announcement.

Keep coming back to look. I have some a few more images to post of Colton with his cousin.

HOW SIBLINGS FAVOR...

Can you tell which baby is which? I mentioned how I had photographed Addy's older sister is the last post. It always amazes me how much siblings favor each other as newborns. I remember everyone saying how much mine favored each other and as a mom all I could see was their differences. I am sure that's how the moms of the newborns that I think favor each other so much see it too. But it is neat to go back and look at the old files. I see now that they don't look as much alike as it seemed when I met baby Addy the first time in the studio, but as you can see from these two sisters that the resemblances are remarkable.

The first images in this post is from the old files. This is baby Taegan.

This is baby Addy.
Taegan again (in Daddy's hand)

Addy in mommy's hand even the back of their heads look alike (Addy)
Taegan
Can you guess which one?
The above imaes is Teagan and the below images is Addy.
In the case of these babies, I do think their mommy does think they look so much a like.

Neat stuff, uh?

ADDY'S NEWBORN PORTRAIT SESSION

INTRODUCING BABY ADDY.
Addy wasn't your typical newborn nor was her session your typical newborn portrait session. Occasionally, I run across a newborn baby is very sensitive and every little movement or change bothers her...usually it isn't a newborn it is a premie who seems like a newborn. But this describes Addy. Her mom will be surprized to see how many good images that I did still get from the first part of her session. It was only about 1/3 of what I normally get in the normal amount of time that I alot for a newborn session. I could see we just weren't going to get the relationship images that day so I suggested splitting her session up. That way we could do the relationship images while her daddy was in. We were both glad that the 2nd half went much better than the first half...though the 2nd half was all about her being in someone's arms (her favorite place to be). So as I look at these images of Addy, I realize that if I had not be there for her session, I would not have guessed it to be any more difficult than other typical newborn portrait session.
A typical-Addy reaction to most things...

This is Addy's big sister, Taegan. I did her newborn session about three years ago...probably one of my easiest sessions up to that time and maybe since then...so I guess it would stand to reason that her sister be the total opposite.

Her little cocoon image... eye open without crying, Yea!

ditto

Wow, another one awake.Asleep, But Not Relaxed...
One reason we photograph newborns asleep because usually that's when they are relaxed and not jerky.

Teagan, Addy's big sister

Isn't she a doll too!

And baby makes four.

There's nothing in this world like the image of a daddy holding his newborn baby.

In mommy's hands (I think I had one like this of Taegan in her daddy's hands.)
Addy and her mommy
Addy with both her parents...
Though Addy has started out as a challenging newborn to her family and even to her photographer, I think we can all agree that this images capture her angelic nature.
That's it for now. I am almost through editing Addy's images. I am so behind on so many things. I usually put most baby sessions on hold a bit while I rush the seniors through, but since I was sooooo behind (because of so many reasons, two trips this year, the overwhelming Christmas holiday season, and the fact that I have continued to book), I felt like I should get a few of things older baby sessions done before the seniors get edited. Today I am doing that. I have a few sessions about ready to post on the blog. I have tried to keep them in order. I started after I finish a session to choose blog images which is giving a great starting point when I get to the actual session's editing process. I think it will really speed that up.
I am also planning to get one or two people to work from their home to help me. Hopefully, between that and the online proofing that I in the process of setting up, that this will increase my production time.
That's it for now.
